The Kalashnikov USA new USA132Z rifle in 7.62x39mm is built on the AK74 design with modernized features and functionality. CAA furniture enhances the rifles ergonomics, capabilities and comfort. A 6-position collapsible stock with a vertically and horizontally adjustable cheek piece and ergonomic pistol grip with 6 different sized rubberized, interchangeable finger grooves and backstraps are just one of the many features that allow the user to customize the rifle for a perfect fit.

The Kalashnikov USA US109T2 AK 12 ga. shotgun with a gas piston system design features a 922(r) conversion that welds the proprietary muzzle brake onto a shortened barrel so the overall barrel length remains at 19.25”, yet significantly reduces recoil, felt concussion and muzzle rise. The multi-sized pistol grip increases firearm control and a 6-position collapsible skeletonized butt stock with removable butt pad and over-molded rubber cheek weld enhances user comfort and reduces overall firearm weight.

The RONI® Recon pistol conversion kit from CAA is the non-NFA model that converts a pistol in 5-seconds with no disassembly or modification. The RONI® Recon increases accuracy to 80 yards and beyond. The 9.4” aluminum top rail and stock shaft provide an aluminum backbone in combination with a polymer body creating a strong, durable and lightweight system. Two 2.25” side rails, in addition to the top rail, allow for plenty of options for accessorizing with lights, optics and lasers.

Italian Gun Grease (IGG) sponsored pro-team shooter, Mike Sexton, has had a successful two weeks competing for Italian Gun Grease. Sexton recently placed third in the Open Division at the 3GN Southwestern Regional, presented by Bushmaster, held on October 11 – 12, 2014 at Copperhead Creek Shooting Club in Marble Falls, TX.  In addition, he placed seventh in the Open Division at the Blue Ridge Mountain 3 Gun (BRM3G), held on October 16 – 18, 2014 at Rockcastle Shooting Center in Park City, KY.

The 3GN Southwestern Regional was one of four events of the 3-Gun Nation Regional Series, presented by Cheaper Than Dirt!. The 3GN Regional Championship Series comprised everything from the sport of 3-gun and all matches were run under the 2014 3GN Club Series Rules set.

The BRM3G was designed to test the competitor’s shooting ability over the natural terrain of the foothills of Kentucky. The stages were created to challenge the competitor’s abilities using all three of his or her weapons.

“My recent finishes at both the 3GN Southwestern Regional and BRM3G would not have been possible if not for Italian Gun Grease products,” remarked Sexton. “They kept my equipment functioning without any failures, despite the cold temperatures, rain and mud. My guns ran like clockwork and performed flawlessly. Thanks to Italian Gun Grease for supporting me during this competitive season.”

Cheaper Than Dirt! Discusses Equipment Reliability with BLACKHAWK!

From humble beginnings crafting durable nylon web gear and packs in a garage back in 1993, BLACKHAWK! has grown into a large corporation offering thousands of products for military, law enforcement, firefighters and EMS, as well as for hunters and self defense. Every product produced by BLACKHAWK! is thoroughly tested under the harshest conditions to ensure that it will hold up and perform when needed the most. In short, for BLACKHAWK! products, failure is not an option.

We spoke with Ty Weaver, Senior Manager of BLACKHAWK!’s Special Operations Division to learn more about the history of the company and what goes into the development of their battle-proven equipment.

Ty Weaver BLACKHAWK! was started in 1993 by a gentleman named Mike Noell., He was actually an active duty SEAL at that time. He was in Northern Iraq on patrol hunting SCUD missiles and one of the straps on his backpack failed, which was bad enough on its own, but they had just found out that they were in the middle of minefield when that happened. So, he decided if he ever got out of that, he’d start making gear that the guys could depend on ’cause he wasn’t impressed with the quality of the issued gear at that time.

He went back, to his East Coast SEAL station in the Norfolk area at Dam Neck. He started designing and building gear out of a 2 car garage in Virginia. He started doing backpacks, load bearing harnesses and things like that.

Cheaper Than Dirt That’s still kind of BLACKHAWK!’s bread and butter isn’t it?

Ty Weaver Yeah, that’s the emphasis. We’re a very diverse company now. We were purchased by ATK in April of 2010—and continue to expand our product offerings. ATK has a number of well-known brands under the umbrella–Federal Premium, Speer, CCI, Weaver, Champion, Alliant Powder and RCBS to name a few. It’s a great fit.

Cheaper Than Dirt Anytime companies can work together under a single umbrella such as ATK, we see so much more product compatibility and so many more innovative products being developed.
